Common Questions

Do your rooms have…?

All our rooms have a refrigerator, microwave, hairdryer, alarm clock, telephone with free calls to the continental US and Canada, wifi, and a private bathroom.

Most of our rooms have an iron and ironing board, a coffee maker, and a seating area.  These amenities can be supplied upon request for those rooms that don’t already have them.

Could I get a second parking space?

Sea Chambers has one parking space per room, so during our busier times we cannot make exceptions to this policy.  During slower times, we may be able to allow a second parking space, but we cannot guarantee this before the day of arrival.

If you require additional parking, we suggest the following, and we recommend contacting the businesses prior to your arrival:

~ Hutchins’ Antiques offers nearby overnight parking for $30.  207-646-9643, 166 Main St, South of the Post Office on Route 1.

~ Jonathan’s Restaurant offers nearby overnight parking for $30.  207-646-4777, 92 Bourne Lane.  Pay at the restaurant, park on Route 1 across from the Meadowmere.

Do you allow pets?

Sea Chambers is not a pet friendly hotel*.  Service dogs trained to assist a person with a disability are welcome, and must be registered with our Front Desk staff upon check-in.  Dogs must be under handler’s control at all times and may not be left in the rooms alone.  Dogs whose sole function is to provide comfort, emotional support or companionship do not qualify as service dogs with public accommodation under federal or Maine state law, and are not allowed at Sea Chambers.  Guests with non-service dogs will be required to leave immediately without refund, and any cleaning costs will be charged.

*Our sister hotel, Studio East, offers limited pet friendly rooms.  Studio East is conveniently

located downtown by the Leavitt Theater, diagonally across from Bread & Roses Bakery.  You may contact Studio East at 207.646.7297, studioeastmotel.com, or This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. . Studio East’s office is closed for the winter and will reopen April 1.

What is your policy on smoking/vaping/marijuana?

We have one designated area on the property where smoking is permitted.  We built this new smoking area in 2018, and have received a great response from our guests, smokers and non-smokers alike.  Smoking and vaping are permitted only in our smoking area.  Smoking and vaping are not permitted in the rooms, decks, pool and fire pit areas, nor while walking around the property.

We have received questions about the legalization of marijuana in Maine.  After much consideration, Sea Chambers is not allowing marijuana to be stored in our rooms, nor consumed in the smoking area, due to the pervasive smell that remains in the building and requires expensive cleaning.  Guests who disregard our policy will be required to leave immediately without refund, and any cleaning costs will be charged.

Do you supply pool towels?

We do keep our pool area stocked with pool towels.  We ask our guests to keep the room towels in the rooms, and to keep the pool towels in the pool area.  Towels may not leave the property.

May I use candles at your property?

For safety reasons, candles and open flames of any kind are not allowed anywhere on our property with the exception of our own fire pit, and lighting cigarettes in our smoking area.
